More Match-3 goodness…

Hey everybody, its been a bit since I updated this site, but it’s only because I’ve been busy doing awesome things. You may remember that about a month and a half ago I said I was working on a Match-3 puzzle game for a tutorial series I was writing for GameDevTuts+. Post-GDC… post…


So this year I was very lucky because I got to attend GDC as an indie developer, and as a writer for GameDevTuts+. It was a very fun year where I got to catch up with a bunch of old friends, and learned a lot of awesome things from some very talented people.

My favorite part of the conference, as always, was the Summits and Tutorials, where I got to hear a bunch of different AAA and indie developers talk about what they learned over the past year, or from their most recent projects. One of my favorite talks was Warren Spector’s talk about writing in games. Continue reading

Match-3 Puzzle Game(Updated 5/14/13)…

Recently I started working on a Match-3 style puzzle game. I’ve been attempting to learn a new tool called Construct 2 and I thought that since I enjoy puzzle games and have prior experience working on them, this would be a good place to start. While the project isn’t finished yet, I wanted to give a brief demonstration of what I have done and talk about where it is going.

Update: I accidentally removed the original version of the game from my site without backing it up, and now only have the final version of the game. Check out the newest post about the game here.

Writing Tutorials for GameDevTuts+


Last November I found my way to the website GameDevTuts+, a blog designed for budding Game Developers to learn the skills they need to start making games. I really liked what they were trying to do, and not longer after I started following them they sent out a call for writers. With my experience as an instructor at Technology and Game Design camps, and my brief experience writing for another similar website, I thought it would be a good fit for me and sent in an application.
